Has It Already Been A Year?

The person who is on my mind right is short, chubby, and bald.

This person also doesn't have many teeth, has long delicate fingers, and loves to destroy cake...

Give up?

The little person on my mind is my niece Zara, who just celebrated her very 1st birthday yesterday on April 28th!

Her mom said that Zara seemed to know exactly what was going on on her special day! When the birthday cake was brought out, Zara started to laugh, kick her feet, and reach for the yummy frosting!

As for me, I can't believe it has already been 1 year since this little girl entered all of our lives! All of our nieces are growing up so, so fast! I feel so blessed that I am getting to watch them change firsthand. How they all have grown!

I remember holding Zara for the first time a year ago. Nobody could get over her l-o-n-g delicate fingers and toes!

"Perhaps she'll be a musician or a ballerina!" we mused together.

No matter what this little girl turns out to be, she is surrounded by family who surely do love her!

The Birthday Girl

Looking forward to even more birthdays,

...We hate house hunting.

We only want one house. Just one. Doesn't have to be very big. Doesn't have to be our dream house. It just has to not utterly repulse us..........yeah. That would be nice.

Dreaming on,

There's No Place Like Home!

Hello Everybody....from our native soil!

That's right! We have officially made it home!

We are so glad to be back in the USA and looking forward to catching up with all of our friends! I know I haven't done a serious post in awhile, but don't worry! I'll catch up soon! This is just a fast update to let everyone know we haven't fallen off of the planet! This past week in Pernes we were very busy, soaking up our last few days in the French countryside, buying presents for loved ones, and taking care of a few domestic chores. Okay so it wasn't just a few, as a matter of fact, it was a pretty large undertaking. Not because the house was so dirty, but because we wanted to leave it better than we found it!

The flights were long, but completely smooth, something we had been praying for (especially after our disastrous journey to France)! Thanks to anyone who thought about us or prayed for a safe journey home!

Our last night in France, our friends Vincent and Siv had a meat fondue for us, as well as a delicious ice cream cake. We closed our time together in prayer, and said our heartfelt goodbyes, not knowing if we'll ever see them again (in this life)! On the way back home, Stuart commented that he felt we had come full circle. Vincent and Siv welcomed us our first day in France with a big meal and helped us get settled, and now three months later they were doing the same thing to say goodbye! What a wonderful blessing they were to us....

So! Welcome back me! It was sooo wonderful to get in my car this morning and drive! I was afraid I would forget how to over there!

I've also been thinking that now that we're home, I need to change the title of our blog. Any snappy titles on anyone's minds? I'd love to hear them!

I hope all of you have a wonderful Easter weekend, surrounded with a strong church community and family/friends to celebrate Christ's resurrection!

Off to buy Marshmallow Peeps and Cadbury Cream Eggs,
